Guest guest
Pax, Seems to me that the main reason why Amma'a Ashram works as a rock grinder (or rock polisher) at times is that there is too many people telling others the "correct way" to do things. I had decided there were too many "cops," and I was not going to tell anyone what to do. So near the end of one Devi Bhava I was minding my own business when I saw the stage monitor urgently signalling me. When I went up to her, she said "Amma says those people sitting on the other side of the stage have been there all night and are keeping others from sitting. She wants someone to get them off the stage." I looked around hoping there was someone other than myself available, but seeing no one else I swallowed hard and said, "But I don't even know who's been there for how long!" "Well, just get them all off, then." was the rejoinder. So I proceded to the other side of the stage, feeling rather like a bull in a china shop, yet mindful that this was apparently Amma's will. The first couple that I asked to get off started to comply, when someone else hissed, "They're in the prasad line!" (Oops!) I won't go into the various other incidents, but it was a humbling experience. I did the best I could under the circumstances, and I did end up irritating some, but under the circumstances I don't know what else I could have done. Not everyone who ends up being a cop really wants the job:-). Our Amma is so funny! Guest guest
This is why I decided long ago that the best seva for me (while the tour is on) is washing dirty kitchen utensils. Only a few brave souls go that way.
