Guest guest
Dear Rastanaga, Your posts are most welcome.. but i regardless of what people post/dont post or say or do , please do not think that you are not an Amma devotee. Amma is not confined to Her organization. Regardless of whether you consider Her your Guru or not, or regardless of whether you feel at home in Her organization or not, if you love Amma, then you are an Amma devotee. You cant confine the Mother of the Universe in one form, one name, one organization! To Me Amma is my Guru. But more than a Guru She is My Mother ... and best friend.. Who is a best friend- one who loves us and in whom we can confide anything right? then what better definition for Amma than that? She is our best friend . In fact, in the Gita, Sri Krishna goes on record calling Himself the world's father, Mother and FRIEND. So the fact that you feel Amma in everybody, and see Her as a beloved friend perhaps makes you a better Amma devotee than many others . YOU BELONG TO AMMA, NOT TO AN ORGANIZATION. Amma is a manifestation of Pure Love and accepts all who come to Her . You dont have to belong to the ashram in order to belong to Her . you and i and every creature belongs to Her .. She is Abrahma Kita Janani- the Mother of all from Brahma down to a worm! There are many stories of Amma's love towrads all beings- Bipin in seattle will tell you how Amma kissed and blessed an insect that was on Her sari and prevented bipin from killing it - and actually gave the worm darshan, put it in a cloth, put some flowers on the cloth, made it in a bundle and asked bipin to take it carefully outside and elease it. There is the story of Amma and the dog that used to bring Her food .. when She was young, rejected by Her family, and used to spend Her time on the beach crying for Devi, a dog used to bring Her food packets- when the dog later got rabies, Amma actually went near the rabid dog, fed the dog, ate from the same plate as the rabid dog, and the dog died later- Amma later said that the dog was reborn nearby and would come to Her in the next life too. There is the story of a goat that pianfully crawled up to Her and died in Her lap looking at Her face. The goat obviously got salvation- imagine dying in the lap of the divine Mother! Well, i have digressed ... there is the story of a man from Bombay who came to see Amma- She was in devi bhava- he saw Her , i think for the first time- he was an old man- and he collapsed in Her lap - Amma quickly told his relatives to take him to his room because his time was up- he died a few minutes later. The last thing he saw was Amma in Devi bhava as e collapsed in Her lap and died. Amma later on said that he was a 'punya atma' a holy soul and that he merged ino Her . Swami Paramatmananda was saying that all the people in the ashram were wishing that they too could have such a blessed death as this man from bombay. This man was not a member of Her ashram or organization. But he was a 'holy soul', in Amma's words- by that I take it that he was a loving compassionate soul who yearned for God and therefore merged in God. so Amma is not confined to any place or organization. regardless of whether you are physically near Her or not, regardless of whether you consider yourself an Amma devotee or not, if you are a compassionate, pure soul you are close to Amma and will come to Her . bala bala --- rastanaga <rastanaga wrote: > Ammachi, "Connie Habash" <Connie@a...> > wrote: > > I also agree that it would be best to return to > topic. > > Not that all these other topics are unworthy of > > interest (I find them interesting, too), but that > this > > group is for the discussion and sharing of Amma > > experiences and learning about Amma. > > "sharing of Amma experiences and learning about > Amma" > is what I have been trying to do. > > However, it seems that for some Amma is just the > Hindu > woman that dresses in white, hugs people and some > call GURU. > > I see Amma reflected in everything. good, bad, ugly, > beautiful, saints and sinners. > > > I, for one, would like to keep it that way. > > There are many other lists out there on > > that discuss world problems, religions, ethical > > issues, politics, etc. > > But they dont include Ammas devotees, and I wanted > to see > how they think > > It is clear that we all have different > perspectives of what Amma is.
