Guest guest
If I could comment on the recent postings: 1- A Moderator shouldn't have to defend ejecting someone from the group if flagrant or repeated violations occur. Anyone having a problem with it should email the moderator directly rather than open up an improper discussion on the subject. 2- To my understanding a moderator can delete postings, so I hereby ask Peter to do some editing if he has time to delete the irrelevant postings about Sai Baba, etc. 3- All the quotes of Amma's struggles during her early years are not realistic. People neglect that while Amma did have household chores and did help villagers, she was not really involved in the world in the sense most of her devotees (non-ashramites) are. I mean that she didn't have the dharma of a particular profession to interfere with her actions or sadhana. The same could be said about Jesus's life. Sure, turning the other cheek is fine if you're a renunciate, but out in the world you must do what's right. Their actions teach the ideal, however, not necessarily the ideal for every situation. 4- Speaking for myself, I really don't care to hear "Amma stories", that is, stories of Grace. 1-because Amma (guru) gives many mystical and psuedo mystical experiences to instill Faith, which implies you don't have any if you keep seeking or keep talking about it as if it's some supernatural thing. If Amma didn't emit such love, I'm sure there are plenty of "devotees" that would've passed her by and not taken advantage of what she's really here for. 2- Most of the devotees I know personally that really enjoy "stories" don't really do anything with their life (sadhana) except external displays, causing trouble to those around them. 3- because it's depressing hearing about Amma answering prayers and saving people from distress when it's simply not the case for everyone. People talk sweetly of Sai Baba and other such people saying things like, "Oh just pray to him/her", or "just surrender to her", but the truth of the matter is that Ammachi's grace is and will be different for everyone.
