Digest Number 654 and an answered prayer

That's fascinating information, John! Are you a

chemist? My dear, long-departed father had a great

love for anything made with coconut. Now that I've

met Amma, I like to think it meant he had a lifetime

or two in Kerala!

Here's an Amma story that means a lot to me.

For over a year I've had a deep yearning to connect

with a friend with whom I'd had a minor falling out

about 8 years ago. Since she never called me,

I was too afraid of rejection to call her. Well,

today, my prayers to Amma about this situation were

miraculously answered. I ran into this woman's

daughter and had a very loving reunion. She told

me that her father (my friend's husband) was very

ill and that her mother needed lots of support

right now. So I called her immediately and assured

her of my love and prayers. I will see her when

I return from California. So thanks to Amma for

this miracle!

I guess there's a serious lesson in this for me

too. All this time I was focusing on my own pain,

not knowing that my friend had lost a grown son and

is now losing her much-loved husband. Instead of

wishing she'd be my friend, I could have been

thinking about how I could be her friend.

So I ask for prayers for Bob and Shirley. Bob

has a form of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

In Amma,

Jyotsna
