I'm not HIndu as well, I was born Christian. I don't consider myself any of

them. I try to follow the good aspects of these religions and not to think

bad of both. I believe in One God, and Amma is for me the nearest expression

I could imagine God would be, if possessed a form.

I think Amma is pure Love and you don't need to change your religion or

ideals or life. If changes occurs, this will happen naturally, thanks to Her

Grace. The first time(7 years ago) I was "brought" to Her by some friend by

change and had a wonderful "shock" during darshan, but still I could not

imagine what would then be and how She helped me and how She is important

for me.

I think you should go to meet Her and also work (seva) for Her if you wish.

I don't know how is in an American retreat, but everytime I wanted to help

or be at a Devi Bhava night here in Europe I could. About the practices, you

can find a lot of material (tapes, cd, videotapes, etc.) sold at the

meeting, as well as leaflet with explanations.

I am always happy when another person feels his/herself drawn to Amma, it's

the best gift one could have, I think. I cannot talk for others, but for me

you are welcome in the list.
