Namaste! to every one. My name is Avinash, I am from

Bridgeport, CT. I hail from India. I am Ammachi's

devotee since 1997. Is there any Ammachi devotee from

CONNECTICUT? I took my freind Chris (who is from

Trumbull) to Ammachi's darshan in 2001, since then he

is a stounch devotee of Ammachi. This is my first

mail. I am assume that this is going to be a Satsang

sharing my views with fellow devotees. In Connecticut

specially in Fairfeild county there are no Ammachi

satsang groups like in Newyork.

Anyway Namah shivaya! to all

Namaste.

Welcome Avinash!

So glad you have joined us!

Yes, we try to be a "cybersatsang". Like all groups, we have our weaknesses,

our low points, and sometimes, by Amma's grace, some very blissful moments.

Looking forward to hearing more about you and Amma.

Care to share your story of how you first met Amma?

In Amma's grace,

premarupa

Aum Amriteshvaryai Namah

This is simply amazing. I had generel perception that there are no

Ammachi devotees in Connecticut. An Ammachi Devotee in Milford, thats

surprising. I had been to Newyork Satsang since 1999, I personally

never met any Ammachi devotee from CT. Intrestingly Milford is very

next to Bridgeport, anyhow I should inform my freind Chris(from

trumbull) who has the same misconception. Maybe we can hold a satsang

in this area in future.

Regarding myself, I hail from Hyderabad (south central India).

The way I came across to Ammachi is through Sri Ramakrishna Mutt

(monastrey). Here is the story, my house is located near the

Ramkrishna Mutt in Hyderabad, so I would daily visit this place

specially the library. Mt family is very closley connected to ideals

of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda. I was fond of reading spiritual

journals in the library specially Mountain path(RAMANA Maharshi),

Hinduism Today(from Kaui,Hawahi), Vedanta kesari, Prabudda Brathi

etc. HERE I came across MATRUVANI(of ammachi) in Sept 1997, after

reading the monthly news letter i was impressed, but nothing

extraordinary. Every month I used to read the journal, I felt there

is something in Ammachi. Before that I had a great admiration for

ramana maharshi, for me he was all time great person, specially for

loosing his body conscious at the age of 16. He was a

prefect, practical Advaita represnting the centrel theme of SANATANA

DHARMA( your not the body but your Atman). But what to do Mortal

frame known as Ramana went back to nature in early 1950's. I was

desperate for a person who is alive. Amazingly in Feb 1998,there was

a flyer on the table were i used to read( I always used to sit on the

same place everyday in the library) informing that Ammachi is

visiting HYDERABAD on 26,27,28(if my memory is sharp) of Feb 1998. I

went to see Ammachi, there was a huge crowd( unlike United states

Darshans in India are usually crowded, with mobs every where) untill i

did'nt no that darshan with Ammachi means a hug. When she hugged me

it was an incredible experience, all my thoughts subsided. This is

what I notice all the time whe she hugs me all my thoughts subside,

even if I what to think something I always fail to indige in a

thougt. Mind goes into point blank space in one of those moments.

Since then I follow her. I had been to Amritapuri twice in late July

1999 and aug 2000. Amritapuri is a tropical paradise, with Arabian

sea on one side and backwaters on the other. I had an intresting

experience in Amritapuri when I had been there for the first time, I

am DEVOTEE OF KALI, I always had a dream to visit Bavatharini temple

of Dakshineshwar, calcutta but this never capitalised. Ironically the

deity in the main temple of Amritapuri was none other than

Bavatharini her self. For me AMMACHI is Kali. People in the world may

view her as a guru, but she is something special in India. Its

uasually big festival were ever she goes in India. DRASHAN FOR 20,000

people is average in India. I am very fortunate in my life to come

across a phenomenon Known as Ammachi.

I really welcome discussions, my intrests are sanatana dharma

(Hinduism),Advaita(non-duality), Swami Vivekananda(first Hindu monk

to visit America),offcourse none other than Ramana Maharshi. I was

often disappointed with immaterial articles posted in this

group. Anyway Namashivaya! to everyone.
