Guest guest
Jai Maa! "Charismatic" Christianity is a sect that practices glossolalia, or "speaking in tongues", and other ecstatic states. They are also called Pentecostals. My father was a minister in one such denomination. The problem, for my experience, with these groups is that they are deeply dualistic. God only "saves" christians, and non-christians burn forever in hell when they die. I consider myself a Hindu. Having said that, they also can be deeply committed and loving bhaktas of Jesus. When I first went to one of Mother's programs in 1999 in Chicago, I felt right at home during the bhajans. Charismatic Christians spend large amounts of time singing and praising God. The way that Amma throws her head back in ecstasy when She sings is very much like the ecstatic behaviour I saw in church as a child. Jai Kali Ma! Aravind Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
