Similarly in pune, their is a newspaper in Sanskrit. News in sanskrit is broadcasted on state owned radio (prasara barathi), besides news been telecasted in sanskrit in state owned televisison channel (door darshan. Recently shakesphere literature and Omar Kayyam poems are transalted into Sanskrit. Besides all these Sanskrit said to be the best natural language for programming, with its sandhi phenomenon, enormus research is being done in this feild. As late as 19th century, followers of reform movemnt 'arya samaj' would thorughly speak in sanskrit. Its founder DAYANANDA SARAWATHI although Gujarathi by birth rarely spoke in gujarathi or hindi, he always addresed in flawless sanskrit. If damage is done to sanskrit, it is was due to government of india inorder to appease minorities,it failed to establish Sanskrit as national langauge. Beauty of Sanskrit is that if one speaks sanskrit in india it is difficult say from which particular state he hails from. Avinash Ramidi.
