Interesting that I found a page where you can read Yogananda's Autobiograhpy book. It is the orginal 1946 edition before it was altered extensively by the SRF Foundation. The site is: http://www.crystalclar\ ity.com/yogananda/index.html Peter

Crystal Clarity is an offshoot of the Ananda group, founded by Donald Walters, aka Kriyananda. Unfortunatley, Mr. Walters has slandered SRF for years, and has himself been convicted (in a court of law) of sexual abuse of multiple female Ananda members during the period when he outwardly claimed to be a celibate monk. Yogananda himself participated in at least one revised edition of the 1946 Autobiography, lest anyone think the 1946 edition was the only one he sanctioned. Crystal Clarity gained access to the 1946 edition (so I heard) when someone at SRF neglected to renew the copyright. (Big oops!) SRF (Self Realization Fellowship Church of All Religions) is the organization that Yogananda established to carry on his work. While "Kriyananda" has launched a massive pr campaign to become known as Yogananda's "direct disciple," there are many far more exemplary "direct disciples" in the SRF organization, such as Daya Mata, Mrinalini Mata, Brother Anandamoy, Brother Bhaktananda, Brother Bimalanda, Uma Mata and Ananda Mata, to name a few of the still-living ones. Many spiritual giants in that organization have passed on, such as "Saint" Lynn, Brother Premamoy, Durga Mata, Brother Turiyananda, etc. (Brother Turiyananda was my personal favorite. The last time I saw him alive, he was (in his great compassion) standing and talking to devotees from all over the world for 4 solid hours. The plastic juice glass in his hand was long empty, with a napkin wadded up in it. For some reason I had an intense desire to have that cup and napkin. So for the four hours I stood there in the crowd (one daren't lose one's place next to "the Great One," as we devotees often called him) thinking, "I want that cup; I want that cup!" At the end of the four hour open house, when he turned to go, Brother T. simply handed me his cup and walked off. I was, of course, incredulous and yet deeply touched and awed by his understanding of how important it was to me to have that holy relic. That was the last time I saw him alive, even though he wasn't more than 60 or so. I cherish that cup and napkin to this very day. SRF is not perfect, but it's "squeaky clean" compared to Ananda, in my opinion. Sincerely, Jyotsna > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > Mail Plus - Powerful.
