Blessed Siblings,

This website allows you to offer your prayers,

thoughts, joys, sorrows & worries to Ammachi:

http://www.amritapuri.org/sevadesk/mailma.htm

Has anyone tried it? I think the web administrator

would take periodic printouts of such letters and give

them to Amma. Any thoughts?

Om Namah Shivaya,

Ravi

Dear Ravi,

Yes, I use it whenever I feel the need--perhaps

3 or 4 times a year. As soon as you hit the

"I offer this unto Amma" button a message comes up,

"Your thoughts have reached the Divine Mother

of the Universe." I find it very comforting,

and have never failed to receive an inner message

from Amma shortly after sending it.

I guess I don't really think the printout

matters. I'm sure the wording of the message was

okayed by Amma. She tells us over and over that

She's omnipresent, and what I get from this message

is that She really wants us to "get" that. It's

comforting, isn't it?

Jyotsna

Namah Shivaya dear Siblings in Amma,

Dear sister, Jyotsna. So glad you are posting your diary. Since this is the

anniversary of our visit to Amritapuri in 2000, will post a few of my own

notes and stories when time permits.

Regarding writing Amma,I too have found that Amma always answers every

question if I ask sincerely, no matter what the form. As our Mother, she

wants to teach us, and being open helps a lot. For a long time I was very

sad that I couldn't speak Malayalam and talk directly to Amma as many of her

children do. If I were younger, would be studying it as some of my younger

family members and friends are. Anyway, some months back Amma appeared to me

in a dream and said very clearly, "I speak English!" This is just one

example of how she communicates. Often it will be through someone else,

either directly, or indirectly. Or someone will send a post with Amma's

words that speak directly to the question, etc.

Some devotees I know are keeping a journal, writing to Amma as part of their

sadhana. It's rather like having a private audience with her! One friend

does archana every morning and writes in her journal. Amma always wakes her

up at 4:30 so she can do this before she goes off to work. isn't that so

sweet?

I think the hardest part is asking the hard questions that involve truly

surrendering and then having the patience and faith to accept the answer

when it's not what we want to hear.

In Amma's grace,

premarupa

Aum Amriteshvaryai Namah

Dear Premarupa & Jyotsna,

Thank you for sharing your experiences. Yes, it is a

very comforting feeling to know that your prayers will

be heard, no matter what the medium is.

Amma has also said that the best way to really communicate with Her is

through silence. Just another way of looking at the matter.
