Guest guest
Every now and then somebody asks me about programs which will enable them to type on their regular keyboard and wind up with Sanskrit, either in Roman letters, like the ones you are reading, or in Devanagari, the alphabet in which Sanskrit is usually written these days. Today I received an email from Shashi who has developed a web-based tool for this. You need to download some fonts and you need to learn Itrans encoding but, if you already know Sanskrit alphabet, that won't be hard. Please see his website and links at http://shashi.greatindiaonline.com/ If you happen to be fond of Lord Shiva, he has a link from there to a page explaining many of the details about how Shiva is represented. Another downloadable Sanskrit program for PC can be found at the Omkarananda Ashram site. I think it is still http://omkarananada- ashram.org but I'll double check. I've used the Shusha font on my Sanskrit page http://webhome.idirect.com/~aum108/sanskrit.html Keval Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.
