In either case, my heart tells me that it's true. It is especially powerful for me because it paralells a personal experience with Amma. Sincerely, Jyotsna>> Perhaps someone has already responded to this, but I had the very same question. I was actually let down at the end, when I realized that it may have been a fictional story written by the Brahmachari who was listed as it's author at the beginning. Even though I know Amma is always with us, I was hoping this was a factual story, and when I realized it may not be, my mind was sad, and I wondered whether Amma really does know all this about each of us. So, does anyone know if this were a story about the general idea that Amma knows everything about all her darling children, or what is based on an actual event? Somehow, I just can't picture Amma going off on all that stuff to Lakshmi. I would imagine she'd keep it to herself. I think someone wrote an inspiring story. At first I thought it might be true, since it is written that way. I think the issue deserves to be settled, based on what is true, however, and not on what someone wants to be the case. And this is a rare case in which this can be done. Do I think Amma knows the nuances of our lives? No. and knowing what God wants us to do is also a very dark subject as far as I am concerned. It perhaps is easier for Indians who to caste system to believe in some universal plan of things. If you have been around Amma for many years, you can look back on your life, and you see things differently than you did at the time. Things that seemed like grace, may now seem like ...disgrace. And vice versa. Until you don't really know what is what. you may find that what you think was detachment is really not caring about others. You might find what you thought was spiritual perspective from things is really being comfortable with your own lot at a certain phase of your life, and not more than that. And that's my sharing for today, thank you and good night. Avram
