Namah Shivaya,

I don't know if the Matruvani story is true or not, but here's the

answer Amma gave to a woman during a Q & A session last summer in San

Ramone that might help clear up Amma's omnipresence and omniscience.

This e-mail came to me from a friend at the Santa Fe ashram and she

recieved it from a person at the San Ramone ashram, the answer Amma

gives is really amazing!!! Enjoy:~)

In Ammma's Love

Jon

Om Amriteswaryai Namah

-

A letter from Bala:

Namah Shivaya

It has been a very nice few days here at San Ramon. As others have

said there was a great answer from Amma to a great question during

the question and answer session.

Someone asked Amma tearfully 'Amma, I don't know who you are .I

cannot fathom you. What is Your consciousness? Are you aware of

everything that happens on all the planes etc. Are you aware of us

when we pray to You? Are you aware of our mental states/thoughts etc?

Amma's answer was so dramatic and profound:

"My children are not different from Me. I see my reflection in all of

you just as one sees one's reflection in a mirror. I see you all as

extensions of Myself.... Lord Krishna used to receive a lot of

letters from various devotees but none from Radha , His foremost

devotee. When asked why Sri Krishna never receives Radha's letters,

He replied 'I am always getting Radha's letters- Radha's letters

however are not written in paper by a pen, but in Her Heart using the

pen of love and the ink of Her tears...."

Amma then proceeded to say that even though She is aware of the

mental states of Her children, She does not always interfere- 'WHAT

IS THE USE IF I CRY ALONG WITH THEM? THAT WONT HELP THEM. AMMA WANTS

HER CHIDLDREN TO GROW STRONG '- by that I understood that Amma meant

that even though She is aware of the various problems Her children

may face, Amma does not ALWAYS interfere to solve the problems as

that would hinder Her children's growth.

Swamiji then also translated saying 'Amma is aware of you all when

you pray to Her'- BUT IMMIEDIATELY AMMA INTERRUPTED HIM AND SAID:

"AMMA IS AWARE OF YOUR MENTAL STATES ALL THE TIME- REGARDLESS OF

WHETHER YOU ARE PRAYING TO HER OR NOT AT THAT POINT"

the crowd burst into applause at this juncture.

So Amma clearly said that She is aware of us ALL THE TIME. This

answer of Amma's is so profound and emphatic that i think it will go

down in Amma-lore as a near avataric pronouncement .

Her statement that Her reflection is in everyone is i think a simple

way of stating the relation between the Supreme Self and the

Individual self.I think this answer of Amma's is similar to Sri

Krishna's in the Gita.

And the beauty of it all was the profound simplicity and naturalness

with which She said it -so casually, almost dismissing the question-

"Oh I am in all of you .. I am you ".... Only God can be so simply

unassuming about His grandeur- because His grandeur is grand for us,

but for Him, it is nothing, it is his natural state . ..

To me, this statement of Amma is i think one of the most dramatic

ones She has let slip about who She really is. I wish I could meet

the questioner. I wish to thank Her profoundly for this answer that

she drew out from Amma
