chanting Lokaha together

Dear sisters and brothers in Amma,

In these days that feel like a countdown to war, and

in this week of daily warnings about terrorist

attacks, I have been thinking -- as I know many of you

have -- about the importance of our spiritual

practices.

Last November, during one of the question and answer

sessions in San Ramon, Amma said that those who

perform spiritual practices sustain the harmony of

creation. She added that if it hadn't been for people

doing spiritual practices, World Wars 3 and 4 would

have already happened.

Wow.

I have been thinking also about the power inherent in

praying and performing spiritual practices together. I

recall reading a quote from Amma's teachings in which

She explained that if two people pray together, it is

twice as effective...if ten people pray together, it

is ten times as effective...and so on.

Two nights ago, I had a dream in which Amma came to me

(thank you Amma!) -- and I'm certain that the dream

was a loving prod, designed to get me to experience in

new and greater ways the power in performing spiritual

practices with others.

So, as a first step, I want to extend an invitation to

all of you who are my beloved sisters and brothers in

Amma...who are already doing your spiritual practices

so faithfully...who are a constant source of

inspiration to me in your love and devotion and

service to Amma.

For the next month, my partner and I are committing

to chant "Lokaha" for 10 minutes every evening at 9

pm, Central Standard Time.

If any of you feel led to join us at that same time

each evening, please do. And every evening, even

though we are in different geographic locations, we

will all know in our hearts that we are one. We will

offer our prayers and ask that they bring a blessing

to the world, and no doubt, we ourselves will receive

a blessing as well.

Please forward this e-mail to anyone else who may be

interested in chanting "Lokaha" with us.

Pranams and many thanks to you all.

In Amma's love,

Amala

Dear Amala,

Om Namaha Shivaya. I will certainly join you both, as this is a good

time for me and I have suggested something similar a couple of weeks

ago.
