Guest guest
Om , I have read someone's post , stating that In the evening one should recite the Mantra form of the Sri Lalhita Sahasranam and in the day as the song form ? I just want to double check if that is so . Also are there any recommended incense one should burn , like what would be the recommended ritual one should do while chanting the Sri Lalhita Sahasranam ? any info greatly appreciated . Nama Shivaya , Joana pollner Send Flowers for Valentine's Day
Guest guest
om amritesvaryai namah joanna, i think it was the other way around - mantra form (Om Sri Matre Namah) in the morning, and stotram form (Srimata-srimaharajni-srimatsimhasanesvari)in the evening. i had never heard this 'rule' before, myself, but it seems like there might be some truth to it...does anyone know if Amma has said this, or if it's just a traditional idea? i know that this is how its done in Amritapuri, so my guess is that there is a good reason. Guest guest
Om Amriteshwaryai Namah I was told about the naamaavali form in the morning and stotram form in the evening "rule" by a tour person last year. The person indicated that the naamaavali form (om <name in dative case> namaH) is very powerful, partly because of the extra om's and namaH's. As a result, it is too potent for the evening time before bed. This is what was said. I follow it as much because that is what they actually do at Amritapuri. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namah Shivaya. Appreciate you sharing this with the list, dear Aravind. It provided a good incentive for us to start doing the longer form on the mornings we can. We tend to be nightowls so most mornings we end up doing the stotra form and thanks to Lutz's wonderful tape, we've become adept at it. It may not be as powerful as the long form, but it sure gets us off to a good start. But thanks to the reminder, we have started the long form again, even if it's midday Sunday.
