India Diaries Inspiration

Dear Manoj and Christiane,

 

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Manoj,

I don't usually keep diaries either, so I need

to acknowledge the inspiration for this diary,

my good friend Dayle, a long-time SRF devotee,

who made me promise no less than 20 (!) times

that I would keep a diary. She also purchased

me a diary! So let's all send dear, sweet Dayle

some good thoughts. She's a real peach!

 

(Smile) In regard to using letters for names, I

thought it more respectful of people's privacy.

The letter I give may not be in their name. In

Scott's case, I made an exception because I feel

sure he wouldn't care, and in many ways he's my

"hero" on this trip--the one who always helps me.

After the trip, I often reflected that I felt as

though Amma had (on some inner level) "assigned"

him to take care of me. Although as I've gotten

to know him better, I realize that he's kind and

helpful to everyone, it was this trip that really

cemented our friendship. I think that will become

evident by the end of the diary.
