Guest guest
>From the http://www.newindpress.com site, as Amma's tour rolls on from Andhra Pradesh, to Maharashtra (Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai) this weekend. Keval ====================== Don’t get tense, says Mata HYDERABAD: The sleepy suburb of Secunderabad attained a divine aura with the chanting of hymns and singing of ‘bhajans’ on Wednesday as Mata Amritanandamayi garnished the hearts of hundreds of devotees with her supreme teachings. The Mata on the second day of her visit to Amritanandamayi Math at Mahendra Hills, performed ‘pooja’ in the morning. Later, she led a ‘bhajan’ in which hundreds of devotees took part experiencing the divine presence. After the ‘bhajan’, she gave a discourse. In the sermon, she urged people not to get tense for the reasons unimportant. Everybody has tensions. ‘‘Leave all the tensions and worries to the almighty,’’ she said. The Mata said human mind was like a garden gifted by the God in which there were beautiful plants, fragrant flowers and delicious fruits. If the fallen leaves and rotten fruits and weeds were not cleared, the beautiful garden would turn into a nasty place. In the same way, we should keep our minds away from evil elements, she said. Speaking about family relations, she said the woman was part of the man and they were not separate entities. Bond of love makes the man and the woman one. Perturbed by diminishing values in the social life, she said that life without values was like a walking machine or a bedecked corpse. Using an allegory of a businessman, she said, ‘‘Love is life and lust is lifeless. People are not supposed to live in isolated islands. They should share and express their love to each other.’’ Harping on the theory of karma, she concluded the sermon by stating ‘‘education is increasing, but values are declining. Love is powerful and only love can make life meaningful.’’ After the discourse, she hugged all the devotees who gathered there. Hundreds of people felt the warmth of her motherly love and went into a world of piety and beatitude. She will leave the city on Thursday morning. I wonder if there is a return policy on this wonderful 'gift'? I for sure would like to return it pronto. No exchanges, thanks.
