Guest guest
Dear Indain sisters and brothers! Heartly congratulations! to the Indian Cricket team for thrashing Pakistan. This is the best Match I have ever watched in my life. Words fall short describe the form with which Sachin played. Can anybody imagine 50 runs in 5 overs ripping apart Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib with such a lethal assault. I heard 1 billion people watched in India, with a national holiday( thaks the match was on week end).I can't imagine the mood in India right now. We were 40 guys watching the match from 2.45 am to 11.30am. We had no sleep. I am sorry for those who missed the match, I don't think they are going get one more chance in their lifetime. Anyway, Once again congratulations and I only hope they clinch the world cup. om Avinash. Totally awesome! And on Shiva Ratri to boot!! Unfortunately I don't appreciate cricket like baseball or hockey (which I have grown up with) or understand the finer points of the game. But I can understand the India-Pakistan rivalry - I just imagine Canada vs. Russia in hockey multiplied 1000 times. This is the best Match I > have > ever watched in my life. What's this like in baseball? A player hitting 5 home runs in as many at bats? Guest guest
Namah Shivaya While I like the results of yesterday's match, what has this got to do with Amma? :-) The problem with India-Pak matches is that people make it to be larger than what it is- just a game. The extreme reactions on either side to victory or defeat is too much - as rediff.com says 'it is either endless garlands or shattered windows'. The last time an indian player didnt perform well, fans stoned his house. On this Shivaratri day, let us pray that the Lord bestow on the indian subcontinent lasting peace and unity . Let not politicians and ignorance again create hatred and division among people. It was heart warming to read that off the filed, the pakistani and Indian teams are actually very friendly to each other. I was happy to read that Wasim Akram ( the pakistani legend)actually went out of his way to teach Nehra(the indian bowler) a few points . I was very happy to read that the players are really very friendly with each other- and i wish this friendliness will spill off on their fans too- and on the rest of the countries Namah Shivaya. --- Mike Brooker <patria1818 wrote: > > > > > Dear Indain sisters and brothers! > > Heartly congratulations! to the Indian Cricket team > > for thrashing Pakistan. > > Totally awesome! Guest guest
As my teacher in my 11th standard used to say, Cricket is a game played by 11 fools and watched by 11,000 fools, especially the fools of Std.11 (Glad that India won, anyway ;-)) Girish On Sat, 1 Mar 2003, balakrishnan Shankar wrote: > Namah Shivaya > > While I like the results of yesterday's match, what has this got to > do with Amma? :-) > > The problem with India-Pak matches is that people make it to be > larger than what it is- just a game. Guest guest
I missed the match on TV. But you don't have to be sorry about it as I was at the newly consecrated Brahmastanam here in Bangalore. We spent the whole night witnessing Abhishekam at regular intervals and chanting Bhajans for almost 5 hours. At 4-30 in the morning we started doing pradakshinam of the temple chanting Bhajans. This went on for almost one hour. Even after a few hours of sleep, the bhajans are ringing in my ears. I was planning to go to Mumbai for AMMA's darshan. Somehow the plan didn't take off. Possibly Delhi between 11 - 13 March if not Brahmastanam Consecration at Ernakulam between 2 - 5 April. All for AMMA.
