<om namah shivaya> is recognizing the power of the centrifugal force that

scatters all things and seems to spread out or destroy matter. (i.e.,

Lord Shiva)

<om namo bhagavate vasudevaya> is recognizing the power of the

centripetal force that attracts all things and seems to bring matter back

into form. (i.e., Lord Krishna)

(the Power, be it going out or coming in, is the Shakti or the Goddess,

who loves both Shiva and Krishna.)

Thy will be done, coming and going, hiding or showing, casting away stones

or gathering stones together. To every thing there is a season...

At the Kripalu Center, in the heyday of Yogi Amrit

Desai, Kripalu's "guru mantra" OM NAMO BHAGAVATE

VASUDEVAYA was usually translated as "Thy will be

done".

Unlike receiving a mantra from Amma, the mantra

initiation from Yogi Desai wasn't exactly a secret.

Everyone received "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya", as

this was the mantra that "Bapuji" Swami Kripalvananda

passed on to Yogi Desai.
