Amma says:

 

* The Guru himself will come to the seeker. There is

no need to wander in search of him.

 

* It is only for our sake that God assumes a form as

an enlightened Master. But They are not the body even

though They appear to be so.

 

* Children, Amma's body is maintained only for the

sake of Her children and for the world. You should

remember that to keep this body in the world is not an

easy thing. It is the call of thousands of sincere

seekers and devotees all over the world that draws the

body to keep itself down on the plane of existence.

Without this there is no downward pull, this body has

no other purpose to be here.

 

* One who walks along with a little child, holding its

hand, will walk slowly, taking small steps, lest the

child should trip and fall. Likewise if ordinary

people are to be uplifted, one should first go down to

their level.

 

* Use me as a ladder, unto your own divine Self.

 

* It may be easy for you to love Amma, but that is not

enough. Try to see Amma in everyone. Children don't

think Amma is confined to this body alone.

 

* To truly love Amma means to love equally all beings

in the world.

 

* Simply loving the Guru will not destroy your

negative tendencies. One needs to have devotion and

faith based on the essential principles of

spirituality. For this, dedication of body, mind and

spirit is necessary. Such faith and obedience will

eradicate those tendencies.

 

* Sorrow is the real Guru. It will take you closer to

God.

 

* Sincerity means the ability to put your whole heart

into what you do, the ability to love your work. When

love begins to flow into all that you do, your work

becomes spiritual practice. It becomes less difficult,

until one day all physical and mental exertion are

gone. From then on, you start working with your whole

heart. Love blossoms within you and it will be

reflected in all that you do.

 

* Children, God has given us the necessary faculties

to become like Him. Love, beauty and all divine

qualities exist within us. We should make use of our

faculties to express these divine qualities in our

lives. Life is a precious gift. By loving become Love.

 

Love alone lends attraction and beauty to actions. No

work is insignificant or meaningless. The amount of

love you pour into your work makes it significant and

beautiful. Your pure attitude beautifies the work. An

unknown feeling of joy springs forth within you as a

result of doing it.

 

* At dusk, small children will worry that the sun has

been lost. In the morning when it rises, they will

rejoice at its return. They don't know the truth

behind the rising and the setting of the sun. In the

same way, with gain and loss, we rejoice and grieve.

 

* The mind has two powers: the veiling power and the

power of projection. First, the mind veils the true

nature of phenomenon and then it misinterprets it. It

covers the truth and makes us mistake the truth for

something else. This illusion can be removed.

 

* Just as the gardener removes the pests that are

destroying a sprouting plant, Amma is removing the bad

tendencies in you. It is for your own good.

 

* Amma loves you without expecting anything from you.

It would be enough for Amma if She could see Her

children always enjoying peace, oblivious of night and

day.

 

* I have no special place to dwell. I dwell in your

heart.
