Namaste my dear sibling in Amma,

First I have to say that I think you made a wonderful point in the

begining of your post. Living on concrete has made us detached from our

earth mother and how precious she is. I firmly believe this. Our

children play on streets and on cement at schools how can they feel her

vibrations so we have been raised to not be connected to our Earth mother.

I think it might be right to pray for both sides. As confusing as that

is too. I know I was and am still agaisnt killing and war. This whole

thing to be felt bad from the start. I wanted to see this end peacefully

but I know I am considered a dreamer in this world I live in.

I then started to run into people from Iraq and Kuwait who had lived

threw torture and horrors I can't even imagine. At the same time it

seems the news is showing similar things. I watched last night with my

husband as I have not been watching tv since the "shock & awe" started.

I wanted to puke honestly after that began and wanted to run and fly

there and take the innocent people into my home.

Listening to my friends stories I am more confused now. I want to see a

free Iraq and for the people of that country to not live with terror and

fear anymore. I just don't know if our country is honestly going to help

them become free and aid the innocent after to rebuild.

As for those who have done the worst imaginable things to humans I

believe since Hitler I don't know. I pray for his heart , his soul but

I wonder if I pray in vain. I ask Amma daily what is one to pray about.

So I pray for our soldiers, thier families, our country , our president

to soften up, for the saftey of the people of Iraq and thier freedom ,

for the soul of the wicked who need God's love greatly.

I also pray for those who are marching for peace since it seems lately

there has been some ugly things happening at these marches and protests.

On friend who is a military wife said that some protesters are now

spitting on, cursing at and tossing red paint on soldiers as they leave

thier bases or are out and about in our own country.

I pray for those who live in our country and are middle eastern that

they are safe. Last weekend I got a glimpse of what it might even be

like to live here and experiance hate by ignorant people who are in fear

that everyone might be a terrorist...even a white girl in Indian clothes

out shopping for food with her daughters. I came home in tears thinking

I can change my clothes and blend in but my friends cannot and I fear

for them greatly.

I know I am not being of any help. I guess I was relieved to see someone

else feeling the same confusion. I suppose we just pray and pray and

pray and offer up our love and support and help to those who need it. Be

a ray of light in a dark time. I am trying to focus on helping. I donate

supplies when there is a collection. I offered to clean house, cook and

be a shoulder to cry on for my neighbor who's son is in the front lines.

I offer to take Muslim women shopping or to appointments. It is all I

can to and I hope it is enough.

Om Shanti,

Sharrdha

You are not the only one.

I don't pray for the sides becuase (polytricks aside) each side is on the

side of spiritual amnesia! Pray for Durge Devi Ma to win the war on this

terrible, terrifying "war on terror," and imagine Sri Krishna's conch

startling the "sides" to truth. That's what i like to do.

I like to do chearleader chants when I watch the news Go Ma, go Ma, go Ma!!

The War

I am confused about this country being at war. I

remember 9/11 and other terrorist incidents in the

last few years. Yes, people died, yes Americans died.

Yes I am American. I walk on the blood of ancestors

who died for me to be here now. Somehow living on

concrete has made me detached from my mother earth and

how precious she is.

Which is to say, as an American citizen I support the

men and women who fight in our name, even though I

don't support the reasons for the fight.

So my confusion is that Amma teaches peace, tolerance

and compassion should be extended to all the beings of

this world and all the other worlds and yet I live in

the country that is killing people in my name.

Does anyone have thoughts on this? Just as I was

writing this down, the answer came that I should pray

for both sides. Is that the answer? >>
