Guest guest
Dear brothers/sisters Let us change the topic to "Who is Amma" instead of Who is Hindu. Hindu is just a name given superficially to identify some section of society, But we are not Hindu, muslim or christian or American or Indian or european etc etc. The biggest question is "who we are". why we came here in front of Amma?. If we know "who is Amma", then we know "who we are" or vise versa So Who is Amma? Is she Krishna or Radha or Kali or Durga........think Jai Ma Ganesh SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! http://sbc. Guest guest
Good re-direction, Ganesh. Last night I was reading from Volume 2 of On the Road to Freedom where he describes Amma's view of the universe as if she's walking through her own dream. He is talking about why she sees Herself in everything, why She is unafraid of dangerous people and animals. He says it's like walking around when you know you are dreaming and everything you see comes from you. In that moment, for about 10 seconds, I could feel that way. I closed my eyes and moved around my world, talked to people at work, played with my cats, seeing it all as if it was a dream. Then I imagined meeting Amma and getting darshan (I haven't done either yet) and I tried to see Her as part of my dream, and me a part of Hers (that was hard for me). It will be interesting to see if I can recapture that feeling when I'm at work today interacting with people - especially people for which I have trouble feeling compassion for various reasons (an ongoing project - trying to see God in people that rub me the wrong way!). Even more, I wonder if I can recapture it when I'm in her presence next week in Rhode Island. So "Who is Amma"... The lightbulb. A loudspeaker. An amplifier. The dreamer and the dreamed. (Suddenly I want to run out and by a copy of Illusions and read it again!) Guest guest
Om Amriteswaryai Namaha Bravo Gabriella! Each time you are able to see God in someone despite your ego, it is a victory over maya! Guest guest
Thank you Brianna - it's hard to think about seeing Amma in me knowing what I do about myself and my life. I feel guilty tarnishing Her image that way, and yet I know I need to realize we're all the same. In the meantime, if I can learn to see God in that person I mentioned who rubs me the wrong way (a customer of mine who I see every day), then I'll know I'm on the right track!
