I dont think that amma disciples have a monopoly on "strange" behavior, whatever that is. Everyone who is around Amma is there for their own reasons. Yes, i find some of the pseudo-hindu posturing rather hard to take from americans who clearly have never been to india (or couldn't handle it if they went) but so what? Amma accepts everyone who comes to see her.
Guest guest
Thanks to Susheelan for evoking so much discussion! I don't consider myself a Hindu, in fact, sometimes all the "hinduisms" around Amma seem to me to obscure who Amma really is. I hope Susheelan's posting has given some devotees pause to consider that we may experience an East Coast Retreat more quiet and focused than ever. Look forward to seeing you there! (I'll be taking part in the Saturday morning Pada Puja in my new, blue Punjabi outfit :-) ) In Her, Vandana

Lots of people would love call for a moratorium on, for example, white people appropriating things like afro-carribean dancing, afro-carribean drumming, gospel music, etc.
