Thank you very much Jyotsna for the welcome. I look

forward to many discussions/insights from this group!

I do have one question for the group, if I may. I have

found myself almost constantly thinking about Amma

since I had her darshan over a week ago. I find myself

reading Amma websites, listening to bhajans, or just

staring at her picture. Does this "honeymoon" period

happen to others, and if so, does it last a long time?

I'd be interested in hearing others' stories.

With love,

Erica

Hi Erica,

I have been experiencing the same thing for months and

I haven't met Amma yet. I check her website daily for

updates, read and re-read her teachings on meditation

and mantra, and I'm simultaneously reading three books

about her. In other words, I can't get enough Amma!

It will be interesting to see how I feel when I

actually see her in person in Rhode Island after all

this build up.

Gabriela,

Thank you for sharing this. Indeed I have felt a connection with Amma since

meeting one of her disciples several weeks ago. I check her website daily to

gaze upon her face and to read her saying. I feel grateful that I have had

this experience of increased awareness and sorting-out over the last several

weeks, so that I can hopefully be even more present and attuned at the

retreat in Rhode Island.

Peace,

Hi Miranda,

I too was experiencing some of it before I met Amma (I

was having dreams about her at least once per week for

two months before I finally did meet her). It has

gotten even more intense now. I feel like a lost lamb

searching for her mother.

I hope you have a wonderful time in RI!

Salutations to the Amma obsessed:-)!

I have known Amma for just three years (in this life time:-), but I

know what you are talking about when you say that Amma is so much

apart of your thoughts. She pulled me to Her by entering my heart and

occupying a prominent place in my thoughts for months before I was

able to physically meet Her. She continues to keep this hold on me,

though I feel it wane a bit from time to time. Being in Her physical

pressence seems to recharge me, and draw me nearer to Her. Needless

to say, I do not enjoy the periods when I feel distant from my Divine

Mother, and look forward to the time in Her physical presence with

great longing. I cherish this longing.

Let us all pray to never lose this sweet divine obsession.

Dear Erica,

You're very welcome! My personal experience

(in regard to your question) is that one's life

is changed forever by meeting Amma. Yes, the

honeymoon is intense, but it sort of goes on

forever. More and more I see that I have less

interest in being with friends who don't want to

talk about Amma. Another devotee friend came over

last night and we both marvelled about how we don't

care to talk unless we can discuss Her. That's not

true of every conversation, of course, but it's

really what's in our hearts.

In Amma's love,

Jyotsna

Fourteen years and still counting.

She is ever new in my thoughts, as if see Her in my mind's eye always for

the first time, and I am forever falling in love with Her all over again.

Sometimes She is a tiny black Kali, sometimes radiant white tall and full

of grace, sometimes a weeping Madonna, sometimes a sweet village Girl,

sometimes so vast the visible universe is just a bit of the embroidery on

Her sari. When I tend my woods and pasture it's Her garment I care for and

when I hear the night creatures their sounds are the jingling of Her

dancing anlkets.

OM AMRITESWARYAI NAMAHA

just a few words in response to your question,

well... i cant exactly remember when Mother found me, i think maybe

it was thru an article in time magazine 2 years ago...anyway in my

experience , no the "honeymoon" period hasent worn off!!!!!!!!and

what a blessing!!!!!!! BIG SMILE! the following summer tour i went &

was graced with meeting Mother for the first time. i happend to bring

some friends along( and my 7 year old sun) well to make a short story

for a long moment, this one friend went off to italy with an exchange

program at our school, when he returned 8 months later & we were

having coffee catching up he noticed i had ALOT of things/experiences

to share and they all had in one way or another a relation to Mother

&/or her teachings:) he asked me, "do you honestly think about Her

all the time?" i very naturally said, "well yes, dont you?"

my point is, i feel it is Mother showering Her infinite love and

grace upon us reminding us we are never alone, she is always with us.

JAI MA!

in Her grace, we are love,

I had my first experience with self-realization 28 years ago and the

honeymoon never ends. I've had pictures of saints up in my homes for

that long also. It only gets better. I saw Amma for the first time 3

years ago. Last year I experience a miraculous healing of a migraine

problem I had suffered with for 14 years. Right after that I put her

picture in my car where I can always see her. Each year I have

brought new people to see her and no one has complained yet! :-)
