This is a wonderful way to participate in the birthday celebration even if

Amritavarsham Souvenir Book - Articles needed

 

 

Dear Blessed Soul,

 

As you all know, Amma's 50th Birthday Celebrations are fast approaching -

less than 2 months away. Things have begun to pick up speed and will

continue to do so as the weeks go by. We have had our first large scale

Amritavarsham50 Press Conference in India, and got tremendous coverage. In

India, we plan to have 12,000 of our brothers and sisters helping us during

this event. Amma called to let me know that we should expect participants

from all 191 United Nations member countries!! And, we are planning to make

each attendee's experience a very personal one, just as Amma has done in Her

tours. Significant progress has been made in preparation, organization,

training etc., and in the upcoming days, there will be an email from me that

gives a summary.

 

For now, we are needing your help in completing a beautiful souvenir of

Amritavarsham50. Just like Amritavarsham50, this is a once in a lifetime

opportunity to write about and celebrate Amma. We would like to get a 800

word article describing personal experiences with Amma. It would be ideal

if 2 to 3 articles came from each country and arrived through an email back

to office by August 12th. Some of the details that you

will need are listed below in a question and answer format.

 

 

1. What is the souvenir that we are planning? The souvenir book celebrates

Amma's life through articles, quotes and pictures from many of her children

and dignitaries around the globe. It also describes dear Amma's life. It

will be produced in a very high quality colour book that can be at home with

you to remind you of all of Amritavarsham 50. It will be available during

the celebrations in Cochin on September 24 to 27, 2003.

 

2. Who should write these articles? Ideally, one article for each country

can be written by a long time devotee who has taken part in seva during

tours or helped coordinate activities. Another can be written by a person

who has met Amma who is a known name in your country. A celebrity or

dignitary is fine. Finally, one article can be from a devotee that has a

very special story to tell. Preferably, the article would be written in

English.

 

3. How long should the article be? The article can range from 800 words -

1 to 1 1/2 pages if it were to be typed in Microsoft Word, for example.

 

4. What should the article contain? The article should have the name of

the writer, year met Amma, and city and country where they live. The

content of the article should be sent by email, in Microsoft Word. The

content should be in sentences and have a. How and when met Amma. Describe

the situation. b. What has happened since then? Please either recount one

special situation or several situations from the time that the writer met

Amma until now. c. What has the writer to say to Amma? Maybe, towards the

end, a personal statement to Amma would be good.

 

5. As the recipient of this email, what should I do next? This is very high

priority. Please try to identify the three writers describe in #2 above and

get their consent. There is an editing team here to help. Please give an

update of your progress by August 7th back to office.
