Guest guest
Namaste Brothers and Sisters, As Amma was so enthralled with Krishna and the stories told over and over again. This is how it is with me about Amma's childhood stories. I can never hear enough of our beloved Mother. And I wonder what everyone else thinks about our Amma. Do you think that she is an Avatar? That she came down to help humanity, and was already enlightened? I mean she was born in the lotus postion. But then to achieve the state that she is in now, she had to meditate and devote herself to Sri Krishna, according to her stories. Do you think that she became enlightened in this lifetime? But I also wonder if she had to do this so that we could see her life as she lived it, and that it is an example to us, and that she has always been enlightened from birth. What are everyone elses thoughts on this? Im intrigued! I myself think that she has always been enlightened and that her life was and is an example to us. I also remember a egroup conversation on how to worship or meditate to achieve our enlightment. That there was a debate going on whether to show emotion or not. To refrain from crying out, etc. Look at our Blessed Mother herself, did she not cry and weep for Krishna day and night, longing to behold a vision of him? She is truly a bhakti! And I can see no other way for myself. I can only be devotional, not mental. I weep to be rid of the earthly life and sorrow. Im tired of the pain of it. I only wish to be one with our Divine Mother! Do you think that she is an Avatar? -I don't think so, I think she is enlightened. Avatar is kind of mythical to me and elightened is very real and attainable (by us) which is an important point. Avatar sounds like she sprung out of a lotus blossom or something. That she came down to help humanity, and was already enlightened? -I think she became enlightened before this lifetime, which is why she didn't have a guru this time. Perhaps she lived many lifetimes as an elightened one. It would explain why she's so good at it. I mean she was born in the lotus postion. But then to achieve the state that she is in now, she had to meditate and devote herself to Sri Krishna, according to her stories. Do you think that she became enlightened in this lifetime? -I think she became RE-enlightened in this life. She was awake in her last one but like everyone, she has to forget everything to reincarnate. But for her it was like having something right on the tip of one's memory. "Aha, oh yeah!", and she was awake again. But I also wonder if she had to do this so that we could see her life as she lived it, and that it is an example to us, and that she has always been enlightened from birth. What are everyone elses thoughts on this? Im intrigued! I myself think that she has always been enlightened and that her life was and is an example to us. -I think that anyone who awakens to the depth that Amma is couldn't help but feel the same way she does, which is kind of a pun now that I think of it :-) > I also remember a egroup conversation on how to worship or meditate to achieve our enlightment. Guest guest
Namaste, Robin I do think Amma is an Avatar. I believe She is a Divine Incarnation who has taken a human birth during this dark age of materialism to help us all experience real love and unity, and to show the way, by Her flawless example, to unending bliss. I think She is one of the greatest beings to ever walk this earth. As for Her Krishna and Devi sadhanas, I believe that while She was born into full consciousness, She created that path as an example to us. Amma teaches us through Her own experience, that we should cry to God with intense longing to come home. It must be very strange for an enlightened being to wake to another human birth, but She obviously has work to do here! In any case, She was certainly never caught up in the maya, and constantly lamented the blind attachment She saw in others. The way She lived her early life is a perfect example of how She wants us to live. Regardless, I can say without a doubt that I am so much happier and blissful since finding my way back to Her lotus feet! While at first I had to speculate about authenticity, I no longer have any doubt. She is pure Adi Shakti, Kali Ma, Devi, Lakshmi, Krishna, Shiva, Ma, Ma, Ma, Ma.... Can't you see it in Her smile? When you hear her laugh in those lovely bhajans, can there be any doubt that this being is purest love wrapped up in a recognizable human package? To me She is the beginning and the end. As for the emotional vs. intellectual paths to moksha, Amma says that bhakti (devotion) is not complete without jnana (knowledge). But it all depends on the disposition of the seeker. You sound like a born bhakti yogi to me, so am I. I'm spending a lot of time in my heart because it used to be very locked up. But what's interesting for me, is that the deeper I get into my sadhana, I feel my consciousness sort of naturally rising up into the third eye. Maybe (and I'm only speculating, as I'm not yet there!) the more open our hearts become, the flow of Shakti no longer gets trapped there with our old pain and emotional baggage, and just moves on and up! Sometimes I get this strange rush of bliss energy that is almost physically incapaciting. I can't seem to turn it on at will, and it comes at the oddest times, on the bus, at work, etc. I'd sure be interested to know if anyone else has this experience, and if anyone has any advice on what to do with it! All my love to you, Robin. I'm very excited for you. Keep loving. Guest guest
It¹s my understanding that already-enlightened avatars may go through the appearance of getting enlightened to set an example or something. Or maybe getting born into a human body is rather overshadowing even if you are already enlightened. Rather earthy, this earth plane. Look at the story of Rama¹s life. Especially the beginning of the Yoga Vashista. on 8/13/03 11:54 AM, Robin Wilson at lilymoonjewel wrote: > Namaste Brothers and Sisters, > > As Amma was so enthralled with Krishna and the stories told over and over > again.
