taking a taxi to Amritapuri

I do NOT recommend taking a taxi at that time of night. It's about 2 1/2-

3 1/2 hours on backroads mostly to get there, and not necessarily safe

at that time of night. No one will be up to greet you, either - you'll

need to wake someone in the towers, and it may be hard for you to

figure everything out at that time of night.

My friend and I stayed in a hotel in Trivandrum that night, and it was

well worth it. The hotels can arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the

airport and take you right there, and you'll be very safe. Not to mention

that you may be quite tired from your trip. We stayed in a very nice

4 star that was only $60/night - The South Park hotel. I'm sure there are

also other hotels there that are fairly nice. That's my recommendation.
