Sri Krishna Bhagavan has some androgynous elements going on though,

wouldn't you say? Those nectarine lips, lotus eyes, blushing cheeks,

gorgeous curls, delectable limbs... What is the difference between feminine

and masculine anyway?

I've been re-reading western religious scholar David Frawley's early book,

_The Flute and the Sword_, and he makes some interesting historical

parallels between Syam and Syama that unify them in both his argument and

my mind. I wonder if anyone else onlist is familiar with this book or

other of Frawley's work?

Also, if you haven't checked amritapuri.org lately -- big grin, for I

msyelf seem to be checking it constantly since Mother returned to India! --

there are a number of sweet stories "newly" up since the 19th, including

Amma's message for Janmashti. The part that stuck with me the most was the

idea that given the choice of laughter or tears, we are all going to die

eventually, so why not be blissful instead of crying? Of course, then I

spent the rest of the evening in petulant tears, so what do I know?

Om Bolo Mata Amritanandamayi ki JAI!!!

love, prashanti
