Sara J.

Dear Sara:

The vibuti prasadam is said to be blessed by the Gods and contains

the vibration of the entire homa or fire ceremony. By applying the

vibhuti to your forehead you participate in the ceremony, just as if

you were there physically.

1. you can eat it.

2. you can share it with others. (including pets)

3. you can apply in on your forehead - either three straight

horizontal line across your forehead or a small horizontal one just

above your eyebrows. Just ensure you don't waste any by allowing it

to fall to the ground. Apply whatever is given to you everywhere on

your body rather than waste it as it is supposed - health, wealth,

riches.

The vibhuti is made from burnt cow dung, which represents the entire

Universe will be ashes one day, when Siva has His Mahapralaya (don't

know what this means :-))) and then begin again. Whatever it is,

the vibuti has great healing properties.
