Guest guest
I was struck by the notion of "criticism" of Amma or religion in general and want to say that one of the ways of learning on the spiritual path is to be able to air concerns, fears, misconceptions, misunderstandings, etc. It is so complicated when one turns to God/spritual path, etc. to separate all the previous teachings that are not practical or spiritual. And as each human is unique in some ways and universal in others, it is a complicated process to get to something other than total chaos inside. Especially in the west where I for one was brought up to think chaos an drama and misery were the norm. I truly did not realize until quite late in my life that peace, quiet, and joy could be the way I could live. So what I am trying to say is that in my separation from Catholicism and embracing of the Hindu path, there were times when I was confused, I had misconceptions and I had hatred of God, I had major fears and part of getting away from all that was to ask some serious questions that may have sounded like criticism but were in fact, for me, a way of sorting out the confusion, the right from the wrong, the difference between God's way and my way. It is a sticky wicket indeed for someone to sit in on all of these postings and have discernment and exercise patience the way I have seen it done for the group here given the fact that we are all on a path and at different places on the path. We must preserve the integrity of each person's journey and yet not alienate people. Blessings on the moderator. Let's all pray for him. Guest guest
Dearest Omenka Supriti Nnadi, Your posting is well put, and I agree with the content. My question is whether we should even be speaking about our negativity to others. Would Amma want us to bring our trials just to Her? Or is it an acceptable spiritual practice to seek the audience and guidance of others on the spiritual path? If someone has a teaching from Amma about this I would be interested to read it. Since joining this group I have wondered if it is spiritually helpful to read all these postings, or if it just adds to the stuff my mind loves to grab on to. Jai Ma! I read somewhere a quote by Amma saying we should not complain to other people, but to pour all of our problems out only to God. --- Omana <eveningstar8 wrote: > Dearest Omenka Supriti Nnadi, > Your posting is well put, and I agree with the > content.
