Guest guest
Among the Sahasranamas, these two are the most popular(there are about 4-5 different Siva Saha. maybe thats why its not chanted that much)- the VS is even more popular than the LS. I dont know what Amma says on that. Generally it is recommended if Jupiter is in a bad position in your natal chart; if Vishnu is your ista, then this is recommended; unlike LS this is commonly not used for worldly gains and needs(though the phalasruti will say that it will give all gains) only for mukti (this is what i got from a great saint); sometimes people who chant VS are also advised to chant LS as otherwise they may end up materially poor (opinions differ). All I can say is that it is a great and powerful chant, and the feeling that you get from chanting is different from that of LS(for me at least). Guest guest
Is Vishnu the consort of Lakshmi? and Is Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth. If so, is there a Lakshmi Sahasranamam then. Also, if the words in Lalita Sahasranamam are difficult to pronounce, would we get points (LOL) for listening to the chant and following it with our eyes in a book. :-) Ammachi, "childofdevi" <childofdevi> wrote: > > Among the Sahasranamas, these two are the most popular(there are > about 4-5 different Siva Saha. maybe thats why its not chanted that > much)- the VS is even more popular than the LS. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Yogaman, Thank you for your detailed explanation. I was reading in the LS story that Hyagreeva (an incarnation of Vishnu) himself recommended the practice of chanting the LS to sage Agasthiar. And since the LS has been called the royal pathway to prosperity as well as liberation, its probably the reason why Amma recommends it. I've found that the feeling arising after reciting the VS is also very powerful and helps one to keep calm and focused in all circumstances, just like the peaceful Vishnu. The energy arising out of chanting LS is definitely a lot more powerful and one feels protected and safe in Devi's grace.
