Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Dixie, Can you elaborate a little bit on what you mean by this? It is also so quiet here . Is this the proverbial lull before the storm of postings, by devotees fresh from Cochin? Some days, when I have forty thousand papers to grade, I wonder how I will read all the posts...yesterday was more like "Hey People!!!! I MISS hearing from you. Write, darn it!!!" I am not sure how to elaborate more, but will give it my best. I have read so frequently that the spiritual eye is a very important passage-way that I would like to experience simply because it is so important to those I love and trust. Unfortunately, most of the time, I could meditate on the spot between my eyebrows til my head explodes and all I typically see is either massive pink or periwinkle jumbles of "light." I don't know what I am missing that prevents me from seeing the spiritual eye, let alone opening the center of it. It seems that there are layers to be "looked thru" (geez, words are inadequate in these matters, aren't they?) and I seem basically incapable of locating the place to begin. Let me know if you still have questions...any help will be truly appreciated and I know you can't help until you know what I need/am asking. Only after several years of practice does one see the third eye(a blue pearl, a five pointed golden star, or a great ball of light brighter than the sun depending on the tradition). The best technique for awakening the third eye is called shambavi mudra or the frontal gaze- roll up the eyeballs up and gaze at the point between the brows initially with eyes open, then with eyes half closed and then eyes fully closed(pretty difficult) keeping the eyeballs still; There are other practices- the yogic yoni mudra(not the tantric yoni mudra), trataka etc.... all ideally have to be practiced for several hours every day... who has the time for that these days:-( regards yogaman
Guest guest
Amma gives us clear directions about how to practice and about our sadhana. I've read, and heard Her say that there are no short cuts in our spiritual practice, that to seek to speed up the process is incorrect, and that we should practice without attachment to the results. Very easy to say, much harder to do. I try to remember when I start to think, "What kind of progress am I making? Why haven't I had the experiences that others speak of?" etc. etc. etc. that my mind is again trapping me. Where I am right NOW in my sadhana is exactly where I need to be. All I need to do is have faith in my guru, and put forth the effort. Sadhana, sadhana, sadhana... My path is unique. Each of us is going to the same place. Paths can meet, overlap. Why be jealous of somebody else's path when it's not ours? "even our sorrows she creates" for our spiritual growth. Guest guest
Namaste all Dixie,i will try to make this short:) i have a habit to make short moments into long letters:). This is my experiense on this matter ,and i must first say that i dont know if amma has books on these matters, but im quite sure you could find during her retreats or online. This desire to have a open third eye or the habilety to wiew our thoughts is something we all share i think, and it must come from all the books we read and all the beutifull storys about this. there are so manny tequniqes and ways to do,and im sure you have looked and read alot, It wont hapend just out of desire i belive, and it will only create an distraction for you/us,a desire just like anny other only desires of spiritual matters sound and feels better to us. I still speak of my self here and what i been throught but i gues that this is something we all share ,atleast us beings that still are "becomming":). So what amma sayes and what i really resonated with when she talked during a satsang was to not be distracted of techniques and and to focus on the atitude and to surender ofcourse a technique with a propper attitude is beutifull:)(tricky hu?) but i still feel its important to not create some new desire or stress in our lives, espessialy not around these spiritaul matters and to explore our bodys and our esoteric habiletys,i meen its endlesly intresting, and can be verry revarding if we dont get distracted from our heart or our path, enought of this a simple thing about the opening then:). There have been sayed that energy flow's where intention goes and it is what iwe experiensed to manny times, then one have to also "know" how to direct the energy to difrent focalpoints. Energy is never static,it is always going out or in,is just that we normaly dont think or give that anny atention other when we desire something:) if you want the energy to move to the eyebrowpart, and in the same time you think about that notting is happening and that you Want things to hapend, then you focus in not inbetween the eybrows and your energy and intention is spread to manny parts and distraction is a fact ,i belive this is something we recognice. So how one is able to hold a firm thought and still be at ease and in a loving and centered state,i cant really say in words. It is the same for anny meditation i reccon,i strongly feel that to make the mind peacefull is where to start, atleast for me its the best. with bhadjans, some do Japa or ofcourse to look and to be around amma and her devotees is a great moment:). with all my words, to make the mind quiet is enought! There are a beutifull Sutra on this subject, and it commmes from the Vigyan bhairav tantra, sutra No.5 Attention between eybrows, let mind be before thought, let form fill with breath essence to the top of the head and there shower as light I dont know if this sayes something but plz write me personaly and we can talk more of this if you like,or if everyone wants an open topic is beutifull to. But as a last thing,i honestly was verry eager and tryed so hard before with all difrent kind of techniques.verry much brain and itelect and i never found annything when i looked:). Then i met my wife, and trought her amma:) i gave my heart more space and for me it is really when im am quiet and centered in love when i experiense more then just the "regular"world the all these things dont matter annymore! ,you know what i meen here? No desire! no looking or hankering, it just stops then ofcourse when i work and do my stressfull mundane thing i slip back into my fysical body as we all do, is just that i feel to say dont mix this mundane stress with third eye openings and breathing or esoteric matters and so on, it can be damaging and requires a peacefull and calm and loving invirorment i believe, wich takes us back to amma's advices and teachings:) if you have thing then it is easy:) I do hope my words brings you joy and fun in the first place!!! this is how i am and not to serious be in peace mikael Ammachi, "Dixie Thacker" <dixielou@s...> wrote: > Namaste All, > > I am having a real struggle locating the spiritual eye at will - any suggestions? > > Thanks in advance. > > At Amma's feet, > Dixie > >

I agree completely that it is very easy to let the daily stress enter into my practices and I also still struggle with being somewhat goal oriented...ie...if I can just find the third eye, then.... Not so oddly, the only time I did see it was one night when I was in the shower and thinking of literally nothing! And, instead of accepting the gift, the all-too-human part of me got greedy and wanted the experience all the time. Obviously, the seeking immediately got in the way of the finding and I haven't seen it since. I think I have a long way to go in the patience department; sometimes I feel like a kid: I want it and I want it NOW. Unfortunately, Mother doesn't seem to be at all ruffled by my temper tantrums!! Thank you again; I am always humbled when my questions move someone to respond.
