Hi Premarupa:

RE: "News from India (Amma's Birthday) the organizers put enormous effort into

getting as many representatives as possible. It was not a perfect thing. And yet

it was phenomenal!"

Nothing is perfect except God... :)

What was the most phenomenal of all was that as a participant, I realized about

2/3 of the way through the process of getting a costume, finding the four people

in my "country", getting the flag, getting the water, getting the candle,

getting the candle lit and making it stay lit, and then waiting for the

procession to begin WHEW, was that in the sweetest way possible Amma had made me

(and others I am sure) realize that the differences we perceive between us

(dresses, language, customs, costumes, locations, traditions, fears, joys) are

not real, that at one certain level we are ALL THE SAME. Especially in God's

eyes. The sense of humor of Amma to put us all together in the same building

with different costumes was so sublime! There were actually two costumes from

two totally different parts of the world that were so similar you could hardly

tell the difference... Anyway 600 people marched, four for each flag. And the

coolest part was getting blessings from the audience! As we

walked all around the stadium people lined the route, and were blessing us as

we walked by!

Having a great time in Cochin, heading home on the 10th...more stories to

follow!

Several speakers at AV50 referred to Amma as CEO: "Chief Enlightenment

Officer".

Jai Amma! So much inner peace has come since growing into this

understanding:

All that she gives me is for my spiritual growth. My path is unique.

Each of us is going to the same place. Paths can meet, overlap. Why be

jealous of somebody else's path when it's not ours?

"even our sorrows she creates" for our spiritual growth.

Jai Amma.

This is a good way to view the AV50 event. None of us can truly grasp what

it was. The fact that it was overwhelming to all of us was, I believe, part

of Amma's leela designed to force us to surrender our minds so that she

could pour something into us on subtle levels beyond our comprehension.

Namah Shivaya.

It may have seemed this way to Rob Sidon and VIP's but to many of us,

especially on the first day, it was a challenge just to negotiate thousands

of people to get to a toilet. And on the first day alone, gangs of thieves

were having a heyday. Things got better organized by the second day, the

thieves were hauled away, the police became more active, etc.

But, like I said in previous message, it was all designed to hone Her

instruments.

Hi Kenna,

Two questions come to mind reading your posts:

What were the thieves doing to have a "heyday?"

What country did the Incans represent?

Thanks for the first person account,

Probably trying to get the malas and other spiritual items to sell

them off somewhere else, like in a Chor Bazaar (literally translated

as Thieves' Market, but the closest US equivalent of the same is a

Flea Market).

Not sure of the intent, but this is what I assume they must be

trying to do.

Oh! the leelas of this world. Even around the Divine Mother such

events can occur (or atleast can be imagined to be occuring).

It reminds me of something similar I heard that had happened in

Santa Fe...

It seems there were some rogues flicking off books and cassettes

from the book stall at the far end of the hall from where Amma was

giving darshan. Amma happened to realize this and she told someobe

by her side to go tighten the security arrangements around the

bookstall.

The person who told me added this comment that Amma probably does

not care for property (because for Her it will be as if a naughty

son took away some of her property without her permission, and at
