She will be presenting the 2003 Gandhi- King Award for Non-violence to His Excellency Mr. Mawai Kebaki, President of Kenya, on October 23rd. The next day, Amma will be participating in the discussion on the International Youth Summit, to be held in Nairobi in 2004. Amma was the fourth winner of the Gandhi-King award. Previous recipients of the award include Nelson Mandela, former South African President, Kofi Annan, the U.N. General-Secretary, and Dr. Jane Goodall, renowned primatologist. This will be the first time Amma is visiting Kenya. Amma left India for Her two-month Europe-North American Tour 2003 on October 5th.
