Guest guest
Namah Shivaya the best Gita translations I have come across are: 1) The Song of God- By Christopher Isherwood and Swami Prabhavananda- vedanta society, CA. 2) Bhagavad Gita by Swami Chidbhavananda - Sri Ramakrishna Mission- gives a word by word translation, transliteration and a short meaning - all in the light of non judgemental all including Vedanta/Sri Ramakrishna point of view. 3) Gita by Swami Gurudasananda - disciple of Sri janaki Mata who Herself was a self realized disciple of Sri Ramana Maharishi- in Bhagavan Ramana's pwn wordsSri Janaki Mata was a realized soul, one of His advanced disciples. This is one of the best translations i have come across -but i dont know if it is available in print today- probably even in India it is hard to get. bala bidu_xterra <bidu_xterra wrote: Here is a simple and nice translation of the Gita on the web, by Dr. Ramanand Prasad of the American Gita Society. http://www.cheraglibrary.org/hindu/gita/ Ravi Aum Amriteswarayai Namaha! Guest guest
I wanna put in a word for the translation of the BG by Juan Mascaro on Penguin classics. Small & simple, but deep & wide for the size. I like this one for those who want to grasp both the philosophy & prose of the Gita without getting into a major study. Great for newbies and the just curious. Jai Ma
