Guest guest
Namaste to all of my brothers and sisters... Pardon my ignorance on this subject, but I would like to know about the 'guidelines' for seating while at programs and retreats. I know that Mothersbooks.org sells back jacks. Are these the only things that we can use to sit on? I have a sand chair that I find very comfortable and only sits about four or six inches off of the ground. Is this too high? Please advise this lost child! Thank you in advance. With love, At Amma's feet, Erica
Guest guest
Dear Erica, I'm sure this answer is not definitive, but, yes, people do use those types of seats, often taking care to position them somewhat to the side, so the added inches don't obstruct others' views. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya. Would like to jump in here with one comment on basic protocol: It is most considerate to carry your seating device with you rather than put it down and leave it. Too often the floor is covered with other people's seating devices while they are off drinking chai or even doing seva, leaving newcomers no place to sit. It's kindest not to use the seats to "mark territory" when you're not there as the space a seat takes up is more precious than hundreds of square feet in ---you fill in the blank. May all who can attend enjoy a fair amount of space in Her physical presence.
