It's so hard for me lately to maintain a spiritual

perspective. Things, little roadblocks, have been

overwhelming me and it's hard for me to find that

place of peace in my heart.

Yesterday I dropped a box of liquor I was taking to

the back room of my store and a bottle broke. Whiskey

started pouring out and I slipped on the wet concrete

and landed on my side in a pool of alcohol. I nearly

started crying! There was glass everywhere and my

jeans were soaked.

I finally calmed down from that and went to Sam's Club

to buy sodas and cigarettes for the store. When I was

unloading into the back of a truck, I dropped two

cases of Dr. Pepper cans and they went rolling all

over the parking lot! I was getting really angry!

Today my mom is getting to me and I don't feel very

peaceful at all!

Argh.

Wish me luck!

Gabriela

Dearest Gabriela,

I really do understand how you feel. We all go through times when the

mundane just gets the better of us and we find ourselves practically

thinking, "Mantra? WHAT MANTRA?!"

Take comfort in the fact that our Amma is still there, no matter how

much or how little we think of Her.

Maybe this is a sign that you need to look more towards the ground

right now. What is pulling you there?

With love,

At Amma's Feet,

Erica

Gabriela,

Could it be that there is a message in these occurances? Could it be

that the liquor, the cigarettes, the Dr. Pepper's are the problem?

Could Amma be saying, "This stuff will hurt you." Around Amma so many

messages are sent our way.

Or maybe it was just a bad day;-)

I am so where you are Gabriella. All I can say is

chant your mantra. Relentlessly!
