Thank you for the exposition on ego... very

thoughtful! I've read that many advanced souls stop

progressing because the danger of ego-intrusion is

greater at that stage than in the beginning.

Question for the list regarding offering to God,

meditation on God, etc: How does the intentional

offering of an action to God manifest? Do you say,

"This is for you, God," or do you pretend God is

standing there appreciating your action, or what? If

I'm cookng, obviously I can offer a plate to an image

of God, or off my deck to Nature, but what if I'm

driving, or doing backstock at work?

What about during meditation - how do I meditate on

God with a form? Do I imagine Amma/Siva/Jesus/whoever

sitting in front of me, or do I focus on their

face...? What is the difference between "meditating"

and "thinking about"? During mantra chanting, I gaze

at Amma's image, but my mind wanders. Sometimes I

imagine going for darshan while I chant, or imagine

Her sitting by me. Any feedback?

Thank you!!!

Re: Re: "efforting", and a question

Namaste, Miranda and others,

I don't know how others do these things, but I typically "talk" to Amma all

the way to work; I tell Her what things I've done better with and what things

I've royallly screwed up and I ask Her for Her guidance in all things and pray

that Her will be done in my life.

When Swami talked to me about my mantra, he told me that part of my

responsibility now included being Amma's ambassador within the world and I've

taken that to heart. I formally dedicate each's days actions, words, and

thoughts to Mother. I then ask that she help me remember always that my children

(students) are Her children first and ask that She guide my heart to loving them

as She does-without judgment, favoritism, or condition.

Then, on the way home, I apologize for having blown a gasket over thirteen

year old hijinks at least once during the day! (-:

Humbly, and always, at Mother's feet,

Snehalata
