Beauty pageants in India are big business, and Miss

India is a huge celebrity who’s feted by Prime

Ministers and Bollywood Stars. The contest winners

often have a light complexion, which is linked to a

growing cosmetics industry of skin lighteners that

cost a fortune. We meet a woman who grooms pageant

entrants, some beauty queens and the Naomi Woolf of

India.
