Guest guest
I very much like the version I got by C. Mackenzie Brown, a Professor of Religion at Trinity University. His done lots of scholarly work on the Feminine Theology of India. His translation of the Devi Gita is very readable and there's lots of commentary, but no transliteration of the original. Keval said: I have a version of the Devi Gita translated by Swami Satyananda Saraswati (devotee of Shree Maa), published by Devi Mandir Publications. I'd recommend this version for Sanskrit studies, as each sloka is written in devanagari and transliteration. Fortunately for whoever composed the Devi Gita, they didn't have copyright laws in the 15th century. A few slokas from the Devi Gita seem to have been lifted straight out of the Bhagavad Gita. Devi Gita VI:32 and VI:33 - cf. Bhagavad Gita II:20 and II:19 respectively. > Hi, > > Just accidentally deleted the discoussion of > translations of the Devi Gita; can someone refresh > me on the best one? > > Thanks, > Snehalata Protect your identity with Mail AddressGuard http://antispam./whatsnewfree
