another London Darshan story

Dear List Memebers, this is another story from London.

This story was told to me by Tina. Tina is a tall, slim, young, very

independent minded woman from Denmark, who works as an accountant.

Tina first met Amma in London in 2001, and usually does seva with

the flowers at the London program, along my friend Ása.

After meeting Amma in the year 2001, Tina went to visit Amritapuri.

In 2002, Tina again went to India and also went on the North

Indian tour.

This year she has seen Amma in many sites on the European tour, and

wanted a special sign from Amma about whether or not she should

resign her job and spend December in Amritapuri. During one darshan

Amma emphatically nodded Her head Yes , to Tina. But that was not a

strong enough signal for Tina.

The scene in London this year was very, very crowded.

The hall was very small and meant for 700 people, and on Devi Bahva

over 4500 darshan tokens were given out. The book store and the

flower seva table, and everything else were all physically in the

same hall with Amma and the devotees, and the crowd; so it is

easy to imagine the " only Amma confusion and creative chaos"

that went on .

In addition to that, many, if not most of the people, were

attending an Amma program for the first time.

When Amma left the programs, She walked only a short distance to the

side of the hall, and then out of a side exit door, where a car

was waiting for Her. Of course, devotees lined Amma's path to the

exit door, and were also lined up outside to see Her leave in the

car.

On the morning program of Devi Bhava day, Amma exited in the same

way and got into the waiting car, and the car started to drive

away. Tina was standing in the line outside, by Amma's car.

Standing near to Tina was a young woman holding a flower that she

obviously wanted to give to Amma.

After Amma got into the car and the door closed , and

the car started to drive away, the young woman holding the flower

got upset and said something like,

"What!...She's gone....I have been waiting here for

darshan."

The young woman had mistakenly thought that the line outside of

the hall by the car, was the waiting line to have Amma's darshan.

The young woman holding the flower immediately took off running

after the car. Tina thought to herself,

" Oh, Something is really going to happen here", so she

took off running after the back of the car too.

After the car had driven for about 10 - 15 seconds it slowed down

and stopped. The young woman and Tina caught up with the car, and

through the open window of the car Amma accepted the woman's

flower and gave her darshan.

Then Amma looked at Tina, and took Tina's hand and held it for a

long time. Finally, after giving Her last unexpected darshans of

the afternoon, the car with Amma in it drove away.

Tina told me that when Amma took and held her hand, she got the

signal from Amma that she was looking for, and is going to spend

December in Amritapuri.

Salutations to our Divine and Ever Compassionate Mother.

In Amma's Love,

Sara
