Guest guest
Hari OM! OM Amriteswariye Namaha! Blessed Ones, The following was the email, which I was talking about... sent by ckeniley2003s With Love & OM OM Nama Shivaya Krishna Prasad Ammachi, "ckeniley2003" <ckeniley2003> wrote: Hi Devotees, When someone says they are enlightened..naturally, and that no effort is necessary...use your discrimination...not in a judgemental way, but in a practical way...are these people really "enlightened"? Are they engaged in transcendental service to all beings 24 hours a day? Are they able to look at you and know all of your future and past births? Do they even believe in reincarnation..probably not. (The current school of natural enlightenment, sort of dove tails with the intellectual, scientific, existentialism schools. Very intellectual.) Or are they just mentally peaceful and accepting. That's O.K, but it isn't enlightened. Amma really sets the bar on being self realized very high. At the Detroit retreat that just passed during the Q&A a devotee said that she was trying to see the children she works with as Amma does. Amma responded by saying that "for you to see Amma's children as Amma does is nearly impossible." What is Amma's state? An indian physicist was chatting with Amma about physics. He got slightly impatient with her over a issue, he had adopted the role of a teacher teaching a village girl about a complicated subject. She asked him, "Do you know who I am?" She asked this question very intently twice. He became a little nervous. She replied, "I have 330 million ishta devatars in each of the cells of my body waiting for my command to create or destroy universes." How enlightened are each of us, really, say, compared to Krishna? (Many advaitans will say that Krishna is a myth!) Are we feeling peaceful? That is good...but many Advaitans and Buddhists, no judgement, just discrimination, have set their standards for enlightenment very, very low. That is why a devotional attitude towards the Supreme is just so beautiful. The creator, sustainer and destroyer of all the universes will come to us as a loving mother! Now that is something I still do not grasp. On Namah Shivaya!! Chris --- End forwarded message ---
