Guest guest
Namaste, I d from the list this past summer after needing time to heal and rest after many new medical problems arose in my life. I felt I should re-introduce myself now that I am doing much better and am able to hand the volume of the this list again. I have missed reading the posts and being among others who love our Mother as much as I do. My name is Shelly, I live in Milford, CT. I am fully time homemaker. Next week my husband and I celebrate our 15th wedding anniversarry. Where has the time gone? We have 5 children age 4 years to 14 years of age. (2 girls, 3 boys) I homeschool our children. So between the duties of a wife and mother being teacher also keeps me busy. Amma had been gently pulling me toward her for years. In different guises but in NYC in the year 2000 I finally recieved my first darshan from her. After that it has been a love affair with my Divine Mother since. I was sad (as were my children) that we did not get to see Amma this past summer when she was here. We look forward to next year though. Last year, I took my children with me to see her and they were struck by the same love as well. For those of you who remember me posting about my youngest son, Jacob, yes he still kisses his picture and tells us how much he loves Amma. He now has his own necklace made from one of Amma's sari's I bought that he loves. This year has been filled with challenges for me. More than any other year but each challenge has opened a door of understanding and of growth for me. It has been an intense journey for sure. Chris...I did recieve and email from you this past summer. I am sorry I did not answer. Hopefully you are on the list and will recieve this. Please email me again. We bought a new computer and had problems when we moved stuff off the old one. Your address was lost and I can't find your phone number either. I hope all is well with you and with your studies. Avinash...HI!! Hope this finds you well too. And to my other friends many hugs and lots of love. Jai Ma! Guest guest
Namaste Shelly, Glad to have you on the list again. I read that you live in Milford, Ct. Have you lived there your whole life? Because I was born and raised there myself though I now live far away. Did you happen to go the Amma's Rhode Island retreat this past summer ... it was wonderful! But then Amma is always wonderful. Happy you've returned to the list .. or should I say ... happy Amma has brought you back . always in Amma's service, Melody "Happiness is being the Miracle in someone else's life." - kalima ammachilist Tuesday, December 02, 2003 8:54 AM Re-intro Namaste, I d from the list this past summer after needing time to heal and rest after many new medical problems arose in my life. Guest guest
Thank you for the welcome back and the prayers for my heatlh. I am currently waiting for a doctor to call me back about a possible heart condition. Sadly though the doctor told me that if I do have this condition there is no treatment for me since I have asthma and low blood pressure and this could make my quality of life horrible and I am honestly doing well. At least that is how I feel. I just pray things come back ok as my mother in law just had a heart attack and my husband is so so worried about me now. I told him I am not worried as I know I have improtant work to do and it is not my time to move on yet. Which to me sounds funny as I use to be so so afraid of death and now I am not. Like I said in my intro I have learned so much this year from just silly health problems. The one thing I am really working on and could use prayers for (and any advice) is how to really let go and forgive. I consider myself a very forving person but I recenctly discovered someone did things that seriously changed the outcome of my life and my relationship with my father. It was like finding out that everything I knew was a lie and I don't know what was real. I want to give forgiveness and let this go so the energy is not in my life. I pray to Mother to help me but I don't know what to do really to let this go. I don't speak with the person who caused this pain as she caused pain on my children and husband. I want to close this chapter and move on but not sure how. If someone has advice I would love to hear it. Or knows of something Amma said I could read to help me with this. Thank you. Jai Ma! Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Shelly, I think the advice to give the pain time and space is very valid. In the mean time, I have found the old practice of writing a letter to the offending party helpful. You know where you let out all the pain and outrage in words, then put the letter away, or better yet place it on your alter or near a picture of Amma as an offering. She advises us to give our pain to Her, over, and over, and over again. May Sri Mata ease your burden, heal you, and give you peace. Jai Ma! Guest guest
Namaste Omana! What a wonderful idea as well. I think I will write a letter and offer to Amma. Thank you! Shelly
