Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya! I meet Amma in 1990. At that time I was a spiritual seeker who would go to almost ever spiritual event. Zen masters, angels gatherings, whatever and whenever. I decided to go to a small Ammachi satsang in Washington D.C. At this point, I did not really like Hindiuism, which i thought was tacky. Too many elephants, monkeys, spicy food and gaudy colors. I prefered Zen buddhism, and japaneese stlyes. I went into the satsang of about 7 people at Loiuse's house. The first thing I noticed was a picture of Amma's feet with a bunch of flowers around them. This, to my mind, was another example of a funny and tacky Indian custom: worshiping feet. Yuchhh! But I couldn't take my eyes off the picture, I just stood there staring and staring. After a few seconds, I felt as though I had smoked some marijuana, but gentler and brighter. This was one of my first big Shakti blessings from Amma. I did not know what "Shakti" was so I was a little disconcerted. I actually thought that this group of people were generating the energy, and that I had stumbled on a group of incredible adepts. We sang bhajans, and I just got more and more "blessed". I was actually frightened by this. I drove home and spent the rest of the night feeling quite intoxicated. It wasn't until later that that someone explained what had happened. That I had experienced a blessing from Amma. I became very interested in Hinduism after this: Very, Very interested. What are the physics of this? Om Namah Shivaya! Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Chris, Great story about your meeting Amma! I just love hearing how She reaches us and pulls us into Her arms (or to Her feet as in your case). As for the physics, I for one just love tripping on the mystery of it all. Jai Ma! For me it is totally impossible to understand Mother's greatness with the mind. There are brief moments when She has granted me an expansive glimpse - and it has totally blown my mind and is impossible to describe. I think that what we know of Her is like a speck on the wall.
