Guest guest
Hi gang, I was attempting to take notes during this talk, but I see they are incomplete, so I'll write down what I have. My apologies for the incompleteness and (probably) errors. November 28, 2003 San Ramon Swami told us he once told Amma to slow down. The Vedas say seekers must have certain qualities from the master: Shravana--listening Sruti--Sat Guru's words Mananam(?)--contemplation intellectual conviction Ruti--logic complete cooperation with master Intellectual conviction gives us strong resolve. Listen to Amma's words--allow them to seep deep into our hearts. (Sruti--words of eternal truth.) Strong resolve leads to practice. Practice leads to experience. Sorrow can not be eliminated by becoming worldly. The secret of happiness is non-attachment. End of notes. I think I must have given up at some point:). Perhaps this will jog some memories. Jyostna-ji, I am going to interject whatever I can recall from memory- apologies for any errors and deviations from what was actually said. Achintya- this talk was recorded on video, so you may want to check with the Ashram if they have a copy. -yogaman > > November 28, 2003 San Ramon > Swami says " It is is impossible to catch up with Amma; last night darshan ended at 6 am in the morning and today we have a morning program at 10 am. " Amma then said to me that you are the one who needs to slow down and that I am going slow enough:-). Even after spending 30 years with Amma, Amma is still a mystery to me" > > The Vedas say seekers must have certain qualities > from the master: > > Shravana--listening > Sruti--Sat Guru's words > Mananam(?)--contemplation > intellectual conviction Mananam- to think over what was heard > Ruti--logic > complete cooperation with master > I am really not sure if the following were said at this talk or some other talk or whether I heard this somewhere else altogether, so pardon me. Teekshana- sharpness, to quickly grasp Jagrata- wakefullness, alertness Nidhidyasana- deep thinking, contemplation > Intellectual conviction gives us strong resolve. > Listen to Amma's words--allow them to seep deep > into our hearts. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Thanks for bring up this thread and helping me complete my notes. When I read what I wrote and absorbed from that satsang I realize I am lacking just a wee bit in the area of SHRAVANA:-) The only thing that I can add is that under the category of Mananam I wrote down the word "digest" the teachings of the Satguru. Jai Ma! Omana > Perhaps this will jog some memories. > > Jyotsna
Guest guest
Good if someone would consolidate these collective notes and uplode them to the group Files.
