Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, In response to the question about bramacharya for householders... Somewhere I once found a website where Amma discusses bramacharya for householders. It was several pages long, but I'm having trouble finding the site just now. The basic message as I remember it was that householders can also practice it by not being attached to their family, job, etc., but by doing their duty within the family. Also, bramacharya is not just "celebacy", but refraining from many things bad for our spiritual growth, or not overindulging in our senses. It is purity from lust in thought, word and deed, and from what I've read this includes lust for flavors, sensations, comforts, material gain, etc. As a householder, we can live IN the world but not be OF it. Or at least, that's the goal! This link has Amma's recommended daily practices for Her householder devotees. It's a very good guide... actually, since it's from Amma, it's the ONLY guide I guess! http://www.amritapuri.org/cultural/daily/practice.htm Time to re-read it myself!
