Guest guest
>From the Times of India - apparently bidding to become the official newspaper of Amma's tour (see 4th paragraph). I always get a chuckle from the CM of Delhi's name! Keval ====================================== Amma spreads warmth, love TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ TUESDAY, MARCH 16, 2004 11:26:39 PM ] NEW DELHI : Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi was received by a throng of devotees, to the sound of Panchiwadiyam, at the Indira Gandhi stadium on Tuesday evening. Chairman, Times Group, Mrs Indu Jain, minister of state for sports and youth affairs Vijay Goel, Delhi finance minister A K Walia, transport and power minister Haroon Yusuf, CBSE chairman Ashok Ganguly were present at the satsang organised in honour of Amma. Endearingly addressed as the ‘‘hugging saint’’, Amma was welcomed by chief minister Sheila Dikshit as the state guest. ‘‘Whenever Amma comes here, Delhi is blessed,’’ said Dikshit lighting the lamp to inaugurate the programme. ‘‘Inspired by Amma, The Times of India has initiated a campaign whereby the letters T stands for the tender love of Amma, O for oneness and I for innovation. To realise this inspiration, the Times Foundation and Spiritual Tourism is promoting worldwide the message of global oneness June 8 onwards,’’ said Mrs Jain. Amma addressed the 20,000-strong audience on the importance of living a stress-free life. Citing several examples, she emphasised on the need to repose faith in God and free ourselves of all tensions in life. To make her point she narrated an anecdote. ‘‘A man in a train compartment kept running the length of the eight compartments. People around him were very curious as to the reason for his frantic behaviour. In reply to their queries, he said he was doing so in order to make his long journey home more bearable,’’ Amma recounted. Amma went on to add how it was useless for the man to be so frantic because anyway he would reach home only when the train reached the station. So why give himself so much of trouble over such a trivial issue? Shlokas and bhajans were part of the performances. Children from the Amrita Vidyalayam School , Delhi , performed the traditional dance forms of Kerala. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/564544.cms Mail - More reliable, more storage, less spam
