Meeting with an Ayurvedic consultant does not have to cost an arm and a leg. If you find a good and respectable one, and tell them ahead of time you cannot afford to come more than once a month or everyother month (or whatever), and that you want them to tell you things you can do at home and the kinds of herbs you can use in your own treatment, it can be very reasonable. I feel that it's important to see a good practitioner, as what may be a good "generic" treatment listed in a book may not be the right one for your specific condition and your partcular balance of the doshas at this time in your life. Having said that, there is also a online that you can ask many ayurvedic practitioners about your condition and often receive very good information and advice (and it's free) - it's ayurveda look it up in the .
