Rhode Island Retreat

Namaste:

 

On the day of the start of the Rhode Island retreat on Thursday

the 22nd, my cat(s) got me up at 3 am in the morning and couldn't go

back to sleep. So I spent the time cleaning the place up and packing

things up for the retreat. Just a few simple essentials nothing more.

I got there at around 4 pm and settled in but was to exited to take a

nap that with all the going ons I finally was able to go to sleep at

around 2 am the following day. Boy! Up for something like 23 hours

and I'm no doctor <grin>. Anyway, got up at 6 am and really felt

fully refreshed ( Thank you Amma ). But I won't go on there as I

really want to describe my getting a mantra from Amma on Devi Bhava

at around 4 am Sunday .....hey! That's today... As I went up for

darshan and met Amma eye to eye I asked Amma for a Mantra. I was, of

course, directed to have an introduction on Mantra's, at the side of

the stage with one very knowlegable person on not only the

responsibilities of having one but picking one that would be right

for oneself, before going onstage and receiving one from Amma. As I

finally went onstage, I was basking in her "human" presence, just

thrilled to no end to just watch. Well, finally my turn came up and

while being so close there that any closer I would touch her cheek I

was at least thankful that Amma was taking care of a family that time

seemed to have stood still for me. But this is what finally happened

when it was my turn to receive a Mantra. She turned towards me and it

seemed like her whole face lit up full of light with the beautiful

radiant smile. That is the scene I will never ever forget. One cannot

really describe it till one actually sees it and be in it. I feel

like I was blest there and believe you me I have my extranuous faults.

And the Mantra I received from Amma I am very happy that it was

picked.. for gee...doesn't Mother know best?
