Guest guest
Mother chanted the entire Mahisasuramardini Stotram on Friday night in Rhode Island. Although I later found out from a devotee friend who has been visiting the ashram that they usually chant this stotram after archana there, it was the first time I had ever heard it...and...WOW! It was so indescribably, staggeringly intense, the massive waves of Durga- energy pouring forth from Her! I saw Her many arms, and felt the power of Her sword. Grateful to Amma for removing another veil, Iswari

Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, at the East Coast programs, there was a CD simply called "Chants," which included the Guru Stotram, Dhyana Sloka, Amma's Archana (108 names), Mahisasuramardini Stotrum, and the closing prayers (called "Shanti Mantras" on the CD). It wasn't an "official" looking CD, just an inexpensive reproduction in a paper sleeve. It's not on the bookstore website now, though hopefully it will be later. If you email the bookstore after Toronto, they should be able to help you! It's definitely worth having... (Okay "worth having" is a ridiculous understatement! *grin*) Also, the words are in the 2002 bhajan supplement, so you can learn it. Guest guest
Someone said Amma suggested we chant the Mahisasuramardini Stotrum every day. Another spiritual teacher said it purifies the atmosphere. My experience playing it at my work place, a homeless shelter primarily for people with addiction & psychiatric issues, reinforces this. I heard the women sing it in Amma's India ashram in the early morning, right after chanting the 1,000 names around 5AM. It's glorious. ammasiswari <ammasiswari wrote: Namah Shivaya, at the East Coast programs, there was a CD simply called "Chants," which included the Guru Stotram, Dhyana Sloka, Amma's Archana (108 names), Mahisasuramardini Stotrum, and the closing prayers (called "Shanti Mantras" on the CD).
